May has been a busy month in Manasseh Lodge... We held a successful yard sale on
May 10th in spite of the rain that fell sporadically throughout the day. We were
also fortunate enough to muster a fraternal visit to Hay Market Lodge on Monday,
May 12th and therefore, we were able to pass along the district travelling gavel.
Ladies Night, which this year is a Ladies English Tea Party, will take place on
Saturday, May 18th at the Sudley Manor Lomond House starting at 2pm. There will
be a Fellowcraft degree taking place on Friday, May 23rd. And if you have a
motorcycle I hope you will join us at the lodge on May 25th at 10am to ride
downtown in support of Rolling Thunder and our POWs and MIAs.

On Monday, June 2nd, we will be changing the lock to the front door of the lodge.
Rt. Wor. Van Aalst will handle the issuing of new keys. Also in June, we will be
raising two Master Masons - on Friday the 20th as well as the 27th. Mark your
calendars and come support the lodge and assist us with the degree work. On the
evening of Saturday, June 21st, District 4 will be hosting a visit by the Grand
Master of Masons in Virginia. This event will take place at Kena Shrine Center
in the Anek building over in Fairfax on Arlington Blvd. with entertainment
commencing at 6:30pm followed by dinner and an address by Most Worshipful
Fred Martin. The following day, on Sunday, June 22nd we have been invited to
celebrate St. John's day at the Manassas Reformed Presbyterian Church. The
service starts at 10am and will be followed by refreshments.

Strawberry Night will be held on Saturday the 28th with M.W. George H. Chapin,
P.G.M. as our guest speaker. Mark your calendar and come out and enjoy a great
Manasseh Lodge tradition. There will be a dinner at 6:30pm and everyone is
invited to attend.

Looking forward into July, the Scholarship Committee will hold it's annual
potluck dinner to honor the scholarship recipients on Friday the 18th.
Ill and in distress:
- Brother Chuck Wirsing
- Brother Dale Cross
- Brother John Cole's Wife, Betty
- Brother Lew Crites
- Rt. Wor. Shorty Vetter's wife, Janet

Our current set of flags will be flown January through June, 2003,
in memory of Charlton E. Gnadt.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
David C. McAndrews
Worshipful Master
