First of all ~ be sure to note that the Stated Communication will
take place on the 11th, not the 4th of July. Enjoy Independence Day
and celebrate safely! Hopefully the sun will be shining for this
National holiday.

Unfortunately, the sun has made a regular habit of staying behind
clouds over the past couple months. Will the rain ever stop? Maybe
it will stop long enough to mow our lawns, if we are lucky. Hopefully
this trend is nearing an end. It would be nice to enjoy some sunshine
this summer. Speaking of summer, I believe it is finally upon us. If
the rain will not cease, it will be a great summer for a nice long vacation.

In June we scheduled the raising of two new Master Masons. We are
also slated to celebrate St. John’s Day. Our annual Strawberry Night
will take place on Saturday, June 28th. The previous week, on Saturday,
June 21st, the Grand Master will make his official visit to the
Fourth Masonic District.

In July, the Scholarship Committee will be hosting a potluck dinner
on Friday the 18th to honor our scholarship winners. There is still
a chance to join me and members of the lodge in October for an Eastern
Caribbean cruise. It departs the day after our Stated Communication in
October and continues for 8 nights. A bus will pick us up at the lodge
and drive us to the pier in New York. The itinerary includes San Juan,
St. Thomas and Tortola. This event will be lots of fun and is very
affordable. If you would like more details, feel free to grab a flyer
at the lodge or contact me. If enough people climb aboard we will be
able to make a considerable contribution to the scholarship fund. We
need to keep growing these funds to support our youth and help provide
for their future.

Manasseh Lodge will also host the District Class this month on
Wednesday, July 16th. According to our DIW we will continue working
on the Master Mason degree. Looking forward to August ~ the annual
Scottish Rite Blue Lodge Night will take place on Saturday, August
16th in Alexandria. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.
Ill and in distress:
- Brother Chuck Wirsing
- Brother Dale Cross
- Brother John Cole's Wife, Betty
- Brother Lew Crites
- Rt. Wor. Shorty Vetter's wife, Janet

Our current set of flags will be flown July through December, 2003,
in memory of Martin Weatherall, PM.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
David C. McAndrews
Worshipful Master
